Working to Halt Online Abuse logo

You know how to sign, verify, encrypt and decrypt messages now. You know how to find other people's keys and add them to your keyring. You know how to send your own key to a key server, and how to export it to a text file to share with others.

While the examples we've used have largely been email messages create or read with Eudora, the same techniques can be used with any other application that deals with plain text. If you PGP-sign your usenet messages (which we recommend), please be certain that you are only using plain text rather than HTML.

Please remember that you must use PGP consistently if it's going to be of any use to you. If you only sign some of your messages, there's no reason for someone to assume that a message that isn't signed is a forgery - even if it it is.

Please note that WHOA does not distribute or provide support for any version of PGP. If you run into a problem, please refer to the documentation that came with the software, or any of the excellent material that is available online. There are also newsgroups about PGP in which you can ask questions of more experienced users.
